A ROOM OF ONE’S OWN

 

There are multiple threads to unwind in Virginia Woolf’s book-length essay, A Room of One’s Own. Written nearly a century ago, the treatise weaves the rich legacy of women writers with the societal impositions they face and the effects of poverty and constraint on creative pursuits.
